Rise – Short Pump opens tomorrow at 7 a.m. at 11561 W. Broad St. in Short Pump, the first Virginia location of the North Carolina based chain Rise Biscuits and Donuts known for – no surprise here – the biscuits and donuts.
We had a chance to check out a sneak peek of Rise – Short Pump Friday morning and we didn’t hold back when ordering if the pictures below are any indication. We ordered two biscuits, one with fried green tomato and pimento cheese and another with bacon egg and cheese. We also ordered a half dozen donuts to take back to our office including one giant apple fritter — seriously, look at the size of this thing!
Everything we had was delicious, especially the biscuit sandwiches. Even though breakfast sandwiches are fairly simple, it’s not always easy to do them right — sometimes the eggs aren’t cooked right or the cheese just isn’t melted enough. Have no fear, Rise – Short Pump knows how to do a breakfast sandwich. Every element of both sandwiches we tried were fantastic and everything was just the right size.
The full menu isn’t posted online quite yet, but you still can get a sense of the different offerings here
. In addition to breakfast, this new spot will also have lunch items including seasonal salads or sandwiches served on a Martin’s potato roll or a biscuit.
If you want to visit Rise – Short Pump yourself, the restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. If you visit tomorrow (8/18) for the grand opening day, 10% of the proceeds will be going back to Comfort Zone Camp aka you won’t feel as guilty if you order a dozen donuts or try a few of the breakfast sandwiches!
